GRE?
GRE stands for Graduate Record Examination. ETS (Educational Testing Service) conducts this test. It measures your readiness for graduate-level study. Universities around the world accept GRE scores for admission into Master's programs, MBA programs, and doctoral degrees. The GRE tests three key areas — Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing. These sections check how well you think, analyze, and solve problems.

Syllabus 2026Analytical Writing (AWA)
Scoring Scale: 0–6 (in 0.5-point increments), This section has one task an Issue Essay. You get a statement or a claim. You need to write a well-structured essay that presents your position clearly and supports it with strong reasons and examples.
Quantitative Reasoning (Quant)
Scoring Scale: 130–170 (in 1-point increments), This section tests your basic math and data interpretation skills. The topics covered include:  Arithmetic and Number Properties  Algebra and Equations  Geometry (Lines, Angles, Triangles, Circles)  Data Analysis (Graphs, Charts, Statistics)  Word Problems
Verbal Reasoning (Verbal)
ScoreScale: 130–170 (in 1-point increments), This section tests your reading and language skills. You will face three types of questions:  Reading Comprehension- You read short and long passages. Then you answer questions about the main idea, the author's tone, or specific details.  Text Completion- You fill in blanks using the right words from given options. These questions test vocabulary in context.  Sentence Equivalence- You choose two words that both complete the sentence correctly and keep the same meaning.
